Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Prague Astronomical Clock are just some of the beautiful monuments and symbols of Prague – the capital of the Czech Republic, as well as an extraordinary city with rich history, culture and cuisine, which students from the RAE visited between 25-26 April!
After arriving on the 25th of April from 11.00 we started a walk around Prague! The Czech capital welcomed the students with a truly summer aura! The cloudless sky and the beautiful architecture of Prague’s monuments charmed all participants of the trip! The breathtaking view stretched out from the hill at the Strahov Monastery, where one of the most beautiful libraries in Europe has its largest and most valuable collection in the Czech Republic over 800 years old.
Then, through Pohorzelec, along Loretta Street, we reached Hradčany Square to admire the Prague Castle, the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Old Royal Palace, St. Peter’s Basilica George and passing the Golden Street – famous writers such as Franz Kafka and Jaroslav Seifert, a Czech poet, whose collection of poems created here brought him the Nobel Prize. Another important point of our trip was the passage through the famous Charles Bridge, from where we began exploring the Old Town.
On the route, we admired: Old Town Square, including the Town Hall, the Church of Our Lady before Týn, the Prague astronomical clock Orloj, the monument to Jan Hus and the Wenceslas Square, as well as the oldest university in Central Europe. Charles University. On the route there were also great stalls and shops that smelled of Czech chocolate, beer and jellies. Devotees of souvenirs and especially the famous Krecik from the Czech cartoon also found something for themselves!
We closed the official tour after 15.00. The students still had the chance to see Prague in the evening hours. This time, not in the hot rays of the sun, but wrapped in the light of lamps and the bustling evening bustle!
April 26 after at 9.00 in perfect moods, rich with memories and Prague adventures, we went on the way back!
We would like to thank the students for their participation and great atmosphere and we invite you for more trips 😉
