The concept of study on the specialization
The aim of the study is to add to a pedagogical education, useful practical skills allowing to identify factors posing a risk of social pathologies and gain knowledge on law and methods of prevention activities, as well as to acquire skills needed in the process of solving the problems of adaptation of individuals and groups, social improvement of human functioning, and to assist families in a variety of crisis situations. Studies in prevention and intervention in crisis situations, prepares professionals to work with individuals and groups of people facing problems of adaptation, coping with social life or people who are struggling with a crisis situation.
Graduates will develop such skills as: developing preventive and corrective programs, working in accordance to Polish and European law, which is the basis for solving social problems, crisis management, information policy’s and cooperation with the local communities and its role in crisis management. Studies give graduates qualifications to design and implement intervention programs in case of unit / group crisis and prepare specialists in the field of diagnostic and consultative skills and pedagogical-psychological counseling for families with parenting difficulties, in crises, with development challenges, as well as those experiencing adaptive problems related to coping with modern world.

Acquired competencies allow you to work as officers of the uniformed services, in institutions such as law enforcement and the ministry of justice (prisons, detention centers, police), courts (as a probation officer), crisis intervention centers, municipal police and non-governmental organizations having in its statutory objectives the prevention of social pathologies (foundations and associations). The graduate will be well prepared to work in educational and vocational counseling organizations, education and care centers, family care homes, diagnostic and consultation centers, pedagogical and psychological counseling organizations. In addition, studies prepare professionals to work in positions of school counselors, ‘hotlines’ consultants, and NGO workers dealing with the problems of social pathologies, employees of local government institutions dealing with social problems of residents, street educators and street workers.
